First off let us congratulate you on wishing to join the most noble profession in EVE: Mercenary Service. It's certainly not a life for everyone. It consists of unrelenting PVP often against superior numbers. It means you'll probably never get 'rich' since you will be expected to put your ship on the line against foes dictated by the client, rather than by yourself. It means that you will be serving a purpose that isn't necessarily your own. It means, in short, that you have opted to place your PVP skills at the service of those who need you.
So we salute your decision to join the honored profession of Mercenary. But before we welcome you into our corporation with open arms there are a few things you need to know.
Noir. was founded in Jan. 2008 as a dedicated mercenary corporation based on professionalism, small gang warfare, and a merit based corporate environment. Our goals are to have fun and earn a living in EVE through PVP.
Our corporate chat is pretty laid back but our fleets are disciplined; we always fly tight. We are also very big on giving those with the ability the opportunity and the accomplished rewarded, whether it be positions within the corp or our payment structure. We are a 'family comes first' outfit. If something going on in real life has your attention just let us know via a post on a forum or say you have to log in game. Real life always trumps EVE in Noir.
As a corp, Noir. has garnered a reputation for professionalism, quality, and unbridled tenacity. Both employers and opponents alike have praised our abilities on the battlefield.
Recruitment is extremly selective and ongoing performance+activity reviews are conducted regularly. Applicants are expected to join with their main character. Alts will not be accepted for any reason unless the main is already in the corporation.
Appplicants must meet the following criteria if they wish to become a member of Noir.:
- Be self sufficient, with the ability to earn ISK on their own without relying on the corporation to provide them with ships or equipment.
- You must have extensive prior PVP experience and kill board stats to prove it. Covert Ops pilots may be an exception to this rule.
- You must be able to fly T2 ships and/or T2 fitted Battleships.
- You must be a team player.
- You must be willing to follow orders of the FC.
- You must agree to be on Ventrillo whenever logged into EVE during a Contract (unless there are very good Real Life reasons not to be. Note: "I don't have a mic" is NOT a reason. Go buy a headset.)
- You must be willing to go wherever our contracts take us. That means empire, lowsec AND 0.0. No excuses, other than real life, will be tolerated for not being "able" to go on a contract.
- You must have a security status higher than -2.0.
Noir's "Rules":
- No "Smack" in local. Talking in local is fine. Smacking is not. If you don't know the difference you probably won't fit in.
- Same rule as above for the EVE-O and Scrapheap or any other EVE related forums. No smack, conversation is fine.
- Only other forum rule is that at no time will any member of Noir. discuss an ongoing contract in a public forum.
- Be respectful of the customer at all times.
- Be respectful to each other. Drama will not be tolerated. Joking around is fine.
- No neutral Remote Assistance (repair, sensor boosting, etc)
- No suicide ganking, we are not pirates. Lowsec 'piracy' is fine but you must keep your sec status above -2.0. No exceptions.
- No can flipping, see above. You are, however, welcome to bait can flippers to your heart's content.
- No use of 'wreck' mechanics to deliberately provoke PVP.
- We do not accept 1v1 on contract. Off contract you are expected to honor any 1v1 you are involved with.
- No use of 'logofski' to avoid losing your ship at a gate/station/whatever. Likewise, no Self-Destructing to avoid giving enemies a kill-mail.
- During Contracts you must be in the contract area at all times unless replacing a ship or authorized by your FC or a corp officer.
- No ransoming during contracts. Off contract you can if you wish but if you do you must honor it.
All time zones are welcome in Noir. We have solid representation 23/7.
